    Default Touch HD Screen Issues

Hi, I'm a newbie here and pretty sure this is in the right place, if not apologise!

I have had a HTC Touch HD for a while now, only just started getting this issue. At first the screen was not responding to where I had tapped it but somewhere else. I tried realigning the screen, which worked for a little while, then started happening more frequently. I found if I squeezed the bottom of the screen it started to work correctly again. Soon after, a couple of days to be precise it happened again but nothing I tried fixed it. A quick google search told me to remove the top screen and there would be four copperle plates, give them a clean and replace the screen. Done and now, it's only if I squeeze the top left corner, where these plates are located, with exactly the right amount of pressure in exactly the right place will it work and even then the screen is still unaligned.

Anybody have any ideas how I can fix this? Unfortunatley it is no longer under warranty and I cannot afford to take to a repair centre at the moment.

Any help would be greatly appriciated!

    Thanks

    Faith

Sorry to hear about the hardware issue. I too have a HD but so far have not experienced the problem you have described.

There was another member of the forum who experienced a similar problem with the screen always going out of calibration and he/she ended up taking it to a service repair shop.

Alternatives are to buy a replacement screen off eBay download the service manual and swap out the touch screen yourself.

You can download the manual from here http://htcdriver.com/index.php?page=...service-manual
My current device is a HTC Touch HD
