Default one or two questions before purchase

first I saw a post reguarding garmin xt just now. Does this app work freely like other gps units and not through provider or wireless/internet connection? -- meaning after you buy the app you won't pay for gps?

Secondly I was wondering about instant messenger apps. I typically use yahoo or also gtalk. Can someone recommend a multi-messenger app; preferably with msn, yim, gtalk

Is it possible to use google earth or google maps with htc touch pro? Is it a native client with the bulk of info on a sd card or through wifi/internet. And also what about skype or voip clients? I know skype is spose to work with smartphones but can someone confirm htc..pro and experience with?

I am not sure what provider but as for verizon only thier 120.00/year software is able to use GPS we can only hope they will unlock GPS for all GPS Software..

For your other software i don't use any of them so i can't give you any first hand information..

The Fuze as provided by AT&T has the GPS open to other apps. And yes, it works very well with Google Maps.

I'm in canada, and probably going to sign up with bell/aliant. If they don't allow it, and sorry if this breaks a rule, is there a way to open it up in other firmware(s)/providers?
