Storing Addresses on Memory Card
Hi all,
Only had the Touch Pro for a couple of weeks and I absolutely LOVE IT!!!
Is there a way for me to store my contacts on the memory card as opposed to the phone's internal memory? I want to keep them there for safe storage. I don't keep my phone numbers written down anywhere so if I lose them I'm totally screwed!
Thanks,
Tony

Re: Storing Addresses on Memory Card
I store all my contacts within Microsoft Outlook. Within the contact details i can put all types of information, such as address, a picture of the person, and many contact numbes.
By using Active Sync 4.5. you can syncronize the info on your Home P.C (Outlook contacts) to your Handset. So if you loose your handset, you have not lost all your contacts.
There is also a nice application developed by Supbro on the XDA website. Its called iContact 0.92 (google is your friend)

Re: Storing Addresses on Memory Card
Yes there is, even without using outlook.
go to start....file explorer...my device. Look for PIM file. Tap and hold, copy. then open storage card and paste in there. Dont put it in a file, leave it as stand alone. Lets say you lose all your contacts on outlook or phone. Do a reset but take sd card out. after phone has reset and ready to use. go to again file explorer. rename the PIM file on device "oldPIM".
Go to storage card, tap and hold, copy and paste into my device. Do a soft reset and everything will be there, addresses, contact pixz, even selective ringer you chose for them, it will even replace your favorite people on today screen tab.
Make sure as you see your device PIM file get larger you follow same procedure to keep it up too date.
Any questions, contact me.

Just to confirm: I've copied and pasted the PIM file to the storage card. At this point I can take the card out and hard reset the phone, correct? Then after the phone is back on I can reinsert the card and copy the PIM file on the card back to My Device. But I'm not sure about the renaming part.
Thanks!

Re: Storing Addresses on Memory Card
Tony
you can use PPCPimback to save all your pim on backup on your card, it's an app you can download, i think you can find with PPCGeeks or XDA Developers, it comes in a zip form which you extract to you card and then open it up and run it n back up all your pim info on your card, hope this clearer than the other mess i did, in to much of a hurry, if you can't find it just let me know n i'll find it

Re: Storing Addresses on Memory Card
Well I copied and pasted the PIM file to my storage card like Dave suggested and then hard reset my phone. Well guess what? I can't find the PIM file anywhere on my storage card.
I'm doing to take a 12-gauge slug to my phone. Then, I'm going to run it over with my car. Then I'm going to throw it down on the ground and stomp on it repeatedly while yelling obscenities.
So I used Microsoft MyPhone to back all my data up online. I've been unsuccessfully trying to sync the phone now for over a hour and a half. It starts to sync files and then gets stuck EVERY time at 60% and only stores a few of my contacts. If for some reason this doesn't restore my contact info soon, in addition to the above things, I'm going to do the following to my phone:
I going to throw it against a brick wall. Then I'll bend it back and forth in a twisty motion until the keyboard rips apart from the body. Then I'm going to get a baseball bat and throw the phone up into the air and smack it around some. Then I'm going to take all the parts down to my local Sprint store and spew them around the whole building.
I'm done venting. I hate this phone more than my ex-girlfriend.
