Please help I am not tech savvy But I have a touch pro need to make it a modem???


I have a htc touch pro phone I just got and I had it flashed for cricket everything works but I do not know how to connect it to the internet? Meaning I have a laptop and the guy that sold me the phone off ebay said that I can turn the phone into a modem and connect it with usb to my laptop anbd use the smart phone capabilities for my laptop to connect to the internet can someone give me a step by step directions on how to do this please and Thank You and Merry Christmas!

Your device should have "USB-To-PC" installed. This program causes a popup to appear wheneveer you connect your device to a PC thru USB. If the popup is not appearing, open the "USB-To-PC" program & make sure that it is set to activate when connected.

You should also have a program called "Internet Sharing". This is the program that allows your PC to connect to the devices Inet connection. Open the program, & set "Network Connection" to your modem. Then tap "connect" & attach the USB cable. Voila, your online.

If these programs are missing, then you are using a Custom ROM, & the cook has removed them from the OS. To reinstall Inet sharing, google "WM Internet sharing" & download the installer. {There are several sites that have Inet Sharing available for download.}
