Unlocked HTC Pro Touch for T-Mobile USA?
So this is my dilemma. I really like the HTC Touch Pro but I think it's only gonna get released for Sprint. I do think however that the HTC Diamond will be released on T-Mobile. Seeing there basically the same phone, with the Pro only being slightly better with longer battery life, SD slot and qwerty keyboard, couldn't I just buy an HTC Touch Pro thats unlocked and use it on T-mobiles' plan for the HTC Diamond? Anyone foresee any problems? Maybe I'll just luck out and they"ll release it for T-Mobile or that whole TMO buying Sprint will happen.
Thanks

Why do you think Sprint's gonna get it?
All I know is unlocking CDMA devices to use on other networks is more difficult than GSM. T-Mobile is CDMA I guess? That I did not know.Andrew
Thanks for visiting HTC Forums

Re: Unlocked HTC Pro Touch for T-Mobile USA?
We'll I have been reading a few different rumor sites. So of course its all rumor but I heard the Diamond would be released in the USA as the T-Mobile Shadow III and the Raphael was coming to Sprint as the successor to the Touch Pro. Whether or not I don't know. Seems to me everything internally on the Raphael is the same as Diamond, the Raphael only having some extras for convinence. Any ideas?

I have read that this phone is coming to the USA in a CDMA form for Sprint first with Verizon not far behind. I am guessing we will see this for T-Mobile eventually.

Wow, nobody on this forum knows the difference between CDMA and GSM? CDMA doesn't use a SIM card, so good luck using your T-Mobile SIM card in a non-SIM device. There will be CDMA and GSM versions coming to North America, rumor says. But yes, the GSM version can be unlocked and used for T-Mobile assuming it comes... Not the Sprint version.

Re: Unlocked HTC Pro Touch for T-Mobile USA?
I bought an unlocked Touch Pro for my son for Christmas. He is currently using it on T-Mobile. The only problem is that we have been unable to get the 3G to work. He can access the datanetwork, but not at 3g speeds. On a wifi network it is superfast. So what is the answer to get the 3g to work on T-mobile?
