    Default Pairing problem

I have a problem pairing my touch pro 2 with the blaupunkt radio in my Ford Kuga. The phone will recognise the Ford Audio and then asked for a pin code (0000) the radio then gives me a 4 digit numeric code to enter into the phone but there is nowhere to enter the code. A message on the phone screen says there was an error and a message on the radio screen says unable to pair HTC.......I have successfully paired (and use) a nokia 95 with the car so what am I doing wrong??
    Regards Pete

I'm confused. Your 2nd sentence begins with "phone will recognise the Ford Audio and then asked for a pin code (0000)" then further in your sentence you say "nowhere to enter the code". The phone asks for a paring code but it didn't provide a space for the code??

It's normal to pair to handsfree device without being prompted for a code on the phone: they all default to 0000, so the phone takes care of it automatically. I have paired to 5 different handsfree on my Pro2 without ever being prompted. Is the radio giving you a code other than 0000?

PS. the Pro2 has its own board: http://www.htcforums.com/forums/35-Touch-Pro2-Rhodium

    Default Bluetooth Pairing

Hi Mesquire thanks for your reply (I didn't mean to confuse you).
    The explanation is thus:
Both the bluetooth on the HTC and the Blaupunkt radio are turned on.
The phone then recognises 'Ford Audio.'
The phone asks for pin code so 0000 is entered.
The radio then gives a random 4 digit number and instructs that this should then be entered into the phone.

    This is the problem!

There is nowhere on the phone screen to enter the numbers given by the radio (If I just input the four numbers and press enter nothing happens).

I am still unable to pair the phone.

I hope that is clearer for you now
    Kind regards
    Pete

so you were prompted for a code on your phone! have you tried waiting for a pairing code from Blaupunkt before entering the code on your Pro2?

is there anyway you can pair it in the other direction? that is, to look for the phone (or enter the name of the device) from your Blaupunkt, pair it from the radio, then enter whatever code you have been given to the phone?
