Possible reason for reduced Verizon spec
Hey guys im wondering is the reason for the reduced spec on the Verizon model because they plan on releasing only or first the Touch Pro Keyboard model? And have it compete price wise with the standard Diamond released by Sprint? Thats what im thinking for a few reasons. One the non keyboard XV6900 sold and was horribly recieved by Verizon. They got it a year late, they changed the rubber black exterior to a cheap feeling white exterior that made the unit seem very very fragile and ive heard that a few Verizon managers refused to sell the Touch based on their horrible experiences on the pre-release demo units they had. My local Verizon store had taken down the 6900 within 2 months of putting it up AND they were still selling the 6800!!
So they look at all 3 models the 6700 6800 and 6900 and they see the two previous models that featured keyboards did much better in sales. So im guessing.... they might just skip the non keyboard Diamond OR at least put a bigger emphasis on they keyboard model maybe be releasing it first.
for some reason i remember hearing that Verizon was code naming their Diamond (not Diamond Pro supposedly) the Raphael... but the Raphael is also an alias for the Diamond Pro ive heard tossed around, which makes me think even more they are releasing a Touch pro first.
Now i think theyre cutting corners to save money to make the unit somewhat competetive with the Sprint non keyboard model and also MAYBE having a slower cpu gives the unit a good deal more battery life which Verizon valued more then Sprint did.

Re: Possible reason for reduced Verizon spec
If they do chop it up it'll definitely be for price reasons, I don't know what they plan on releasing it at but I've heard Sprint is looking for $249.99 after 2 year contract/rebates for the Diamond and $299.99 under the same conditions for the Touch Pro.

Re: Possible reason for reduced Verizon spec
Given what some of the other companies are releasing, I still see NO reason whatsoever for reducing the functionality of the phone. It just seems to me like buying a BMW here in the states, and your particular delearship removes the stereo and puts one of their own in (not as good) and a leeser engine and smaller fuel tank than what is standard for the model you purchased.
