Voice Command?
Does Microsoft Voice Command work OK on the TP2 please? If so, is it only available as a commercial offering from sources like Handango, rather than a free option from MS?

Re: Voice Command?
I have installed Microsoft Voice Command on my Vodafone Touch Pro 2 and it works fine within the bounds of the software. By that I mean that the software is not good at recognizing commands when there is any ambient noise. I bought my sofware from Pocketland.net one of the listed suppliers on the Microsoft website, it is not available free legally as far as I am aware although it needs no key once downloaded. There is a cheaper piece of software Speereo Voice Launcher for WM Touchscreen that is also available. Hope this is useful.

Re: Voice Command?
Hi,
Any further word on whether Voice Command works on the Touch Pro 2? Seen various reports of people having problems. How about over bluetooth?
I'm about to switch from an SPV E650 to Touch Pro 2, and this feature would be very useful when phoning while driving.

Re: Voice Command?
I just got the Verizon TP2 and I have to say NO it does not. It keeps asking me to repeat myself like it isnt hearing me even in a dead quiet room. Its even worse over Bluetooth. Dont even get me started on the Bluetooth. I cant believe they havent come up with a decent BT stack for these phones yet. I will have to wait for someone to crack it so we can import a different stack like Ive had to do on my last three HTC phones.
Edit: I forgot to mention that the VC came on my TP2 already installed from Verizon. I own a couple copies of it from my last few phones. Maybe the pre installed VC is some stripped down version?

Re: Voice Command?
I've got Voice Command on my TP2 and it works well with my in-car hands-free (Parrot CK3000) but I think thats down to the Parrot rather than the TP2. I don't seem to be able to operate the phone with Voice Command over bluetooth, but I can confirm voice dialing works perfectly

Re: Voice Command?
There is only one feature I absolutely must have: When there's an incoming call from a phone number in my address book, the phone must announce the NAME of the caller through the bluetooth headset.
Given that this feature is a standard feature of Microsoft Voice Command, this should be a slam dunk. But I've been searching for well over a year and still haven't found a single phone on which this feature is known to work.
I thought surely such a crucial feature would work on the Touch Pro 2. But apparently not due to the incompatible bluetooth stack. I'm really disappointed with HTC. There just seems to be a total lack of adequate testing of the bundled software to ascertain that it actually works with the hardware.

Re: Voice Command?
Agree about the bluetooth. The TP2 is a fabulous device for 95% of my needs. Unfortunately the other 5%, ie bluetooth connectivity, is a showstopper for me. No point having a fabulous device that won't work in the car. I can't understand why they won't fix it. I migrated from a Snap that worked perfectly with the old MS stack.

Re: Voice Command?
I use MS Voice Command on the Verizon version in a non-bluetooth environment and it largely works OK. It'll launch apps and dial people. The annoying thing is it freaking can't recognize me saying "Mom" no matter how I pronounce it! It always tries to call "alarm", which is my alarm panel, or "home". I've tried Mum, Moe-uhm, Mom, Maam... no dice! WTF tester didn't try to call their own mom with it!
