Thread: Bottom line - Can Tom Tom Navigator work on Touch Pro2

Hey all,
I'm picking up my Touch Pro 2 on Tues from Telus in Canada. I've read some stuff on different forums saying that Tom Tom doesn't work/isn't compatible with the Pro 2. Is there a definitive answer? Tom Tom on Pro 2 - Yes or No? I'd really like to know before I buy this phone.

TomTom 7 works on my HTC TP2. The keyboard however does not work well (strange characters)

Don't know about 7 but I have Navigator 6 and it does not work. Called TomTom and there are no current plans for support. There are rumors of a Navigator 8 coming out that should work but no idea when it will be out.

Tried both TomTom 6 & 7 - no luck with either on my Pro 2.

Also spoke to TomTom - no plans for support for either

Copilot 8 could be an option? - but what ever you do - do not install Copilot 7 as you will not be able to un-install on a Pro 2

TomTom Navigator 7 works fine on HTC Touch Pro 2 and it is listed on their web-site as a supported device. I received the version 7.916 from TomTom a short while ago and it worked fine, inserted the SD-card and no problems. I later copied the contents of the SD card onto a larger card also with no problems. This release contained the version 7 Western Europe map.

I was in need of a US map as well, which TomTom doesn't deliver at the moment. However the version 6 maps do work with some simple tweaks
