Does anyone know if this issue with the proximity sensor has a patch fix or has been resolved? I just bought two HTC Tilt2 within two months (one for each line) and BOTH phones have this problem. I can be on a call with the phone to my ear and (yep) the screen goes black, but when i set the phone down to set up a converence call (VERY IMPORTANT FEATURE). the screen continually goes on and off...
the screen lights up for a few seconds after setting it on a flat surface; I try and click the conference button to bring someone else into the call and the screen goes black. Then i tried every trick to get it to display again so i can complete the task. This is not good.
What is the use of the feature if you cant get to it with this quirky proximity sensor!?! Then, when I try to push Speaker phone, , again, light goes on and off, not enough time to make the selection..
totally sucks HTC!~!!

I was pissing with that sensor the other day because i got the phone as a Christmas gift replacin my g1 that i was in love with..and almost every call i have made so far hangs up because my cheek touches the hang up or hold or mute button... extremely important that a phone works to make calls... so i heard about the sensor.. i was hoping that i could just cover the sensor with a sticker and be done with it....seems it's calibrated to black the screen 1 to 2 mm from the sensor but if you cover the sensor directly (i used a tiny cut of opaque paper and bit of cello tape) at least on the tmobile g2, the screen turns on and stays on....so try it for your conference call (..er test this first) stick a piece of paper or sticker directly over the sensor. and if it works let me know... Im still trying to figure out of my cheek brushing the screen issue. I move when it talk i do things while i m on the phone i move about...and don't want to have to have a weird work around just to keep the thing. made a few work arounds with the settings I had available but i want to just make it right. it annoys me to have such an expensive thing and not have the most basic function work.
