Battery Draining out quickly
Hi buddies,
The battery in my Touch pro2 is draining out very quickly.. Even if i fully charged, the battery gets drained and my mobile is switching off within 24 hour... This problem raises just 3 days before.. Whether i need to change the battery or what? My mobile is just 5 months old... Any suggestions?

Re: Battery Draining out quickly
Windows Mobile 6.1 or 6.5?
Any change to online behaviour?
Any change to service provider/network or service plan (e.g., from 2G to 3G)?
some users have reported excessive battery consumption after upgrading to wm 6.5 or switching to 3G networks. since your device is still under warranty, I suggest you ask for a replacement just to be safe. Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function. Post them in the appropriate board in the forum so everyone can read. If you "pm" me with an issue you are experiencing, I'll delete without reply.

Re: Battery Draining out quickly
Thank You Mesquire... Yeah i upgraded from WM 6.1 to 6.5 But It was fine after my upgradation... I noticed this problem as soon as I have installed some new applications such as screen rotation, VZO for video calling.. Even i uninstalled those programs the battery problem exists... Shall i ask for replacement then?

Re: Battery Draining out quickly
no harm in trying (one could always use a new battery after a few months of use) but I suspect a new battery may not cure the problem. if the problem is still there after using a new batt, try a hard reset back to when you first upgrade to 6.5 and run it for a few days to see if the problem persists. if not, then install one application at a time to see if it causes excessive consumption.
actually, the reported battery drain is one reason why my TP2 hasn't upgraded to 6.5 (another being my GPS/map app does not support 6.5  )Please do not send your questions or problems to me using Private Messages function. I'm also experiencing this problem. It started yesterday and came completely out of the blue. I am running WinMo 6.5, but have been doing that for 2 or 3 months now. I've not installed any additional software in the last week, not change my service provider. It's extremely frustrating because it's an otherwise fantastic device.

i have started facing the same problem, bought it a couple of weeks back..was working just fine till a couple of days ago when the battery started draining out within 8-9 hour with minimal usage, no internet(wifi/gprs/edge etc), i am using it with a 2g service provider, i havent upgraded it to win 6.5 although i have installed some applications like core player, msdict and pocket player. Please suggest a solution for this.
i have also observed that when i place the phone near speakers it gives out that disturbance continuously like its trying to connect to a call/ internet etc.Last edited by falcon; 01-28-2010 at 11:46 AM.

As a 4 year iPhone programmer, every upgrade in the OS seems to drain the battery faster. These batteries are two years behind the operation of these advanced phones. At least with the Pro 2 you can switch a battery quickly. There are also special charging units that can be bought for the phone. You haven't encountered real battery drainage until you put a flash player on one of these phones. A new battery design is coming (Sony has one) and should make the charge last about 4 times longer.
Oh, bluetooth, wifi, and apps that don't completely close down can also drain the life out of the battery. Soooo....turn off these things. To be sure that the apps are shut down, turn off and then on the phone.

Phones get thinner and thinner, looks cool. Yep but batteries just don't provide the power to deliver the performance of actually using the device to do what it is designed for.
When I'm out of the office I fit a MUGEN extended battery on my HD . Yep it's fatter but it allows me to actually do stuff (email, calls, web, SMS, document review, ...) without chasing an AC adapter.
Looking forward to batteries which match the thin profile bur still deliver the power you actually needMy current device is a HTC Touch HD

I too having similar issues..battery in my case, does not last if used for say two hours in a session..starts showing battery low alerts.
Subsequently, you get another alert "battery very low". H/ever, if charged for say 1.5 hours, the battery indicator shows full charge. The battery ought to have lasted at least for a day..
