Thread: Can not call from phone number link in calendar notes

I like to put information in the notes of a calendar item such as the phone number of a hotel I will be traveling to. Then if I get lost or need to cancel the reservation I can just call up the calendar item where the phone number appears as a blue underlined link on the screen. With other phones if I select the link the phone will dial that number.

With the touch pro 2 the phone takes me to another screen when the link is selected offering to call the number, or do an SMS or save to contacts. The trouble is the call the number feature does not work. When I push the buttons on the screen to call nothing happens.

Is anyone else having this issue? Any ideas how to fix the problem?

Ok - I'm answering my own post. I have discovered that the problem only occurs when the area code is within parentheses, which of course is common in the US. Any other format seems to work fine. Definately seems like a bug but at least one that can be worked around. So (xxx) xxx-xxxx does not dial but xxx xxx-xxxx works fine.
