    Default Touchscreen not working

    Hello everyone,

    I just got an HTC Touch Pro 2 last saturday and it's touchscreen has frozen two times now.

    The first time it happend when I was watching a youtube video, and the second time it was when I tried to pauze a song I was playing.

    What happens is the following:
    The touchscreen doesn't react to anything anymore. When I lock the phone, I can't type in my password either by touch screen or by Qwerty keyboard. And when I don't lock the phone, the phone only reacts to the four non-touch buttons below. Though this doesn't get me anywhere.
    I had to take out my battery both times in order to restart the phone, because when I try to turn it off, it asks me to choose "do you really want to turn of the phone, YES or NO", but since the touch and qwerty keyboard ain't working I couldn't choose YES. So I had to take out the battery.

    Anyone know why this happens and how I can resolve this problem?

    This sounds like a Hardware issue. You can contact the place you bought it for a replacement, or you can contact HTC warranty services for repair.

    There's a small possibility that this is a software issue. in which case you can try flashing the ROM & see if this solves the issue. If flashing the ROM does not solve the issue, then you will have to get it replaced or repaired. The ROM can be downloaded from HTC's website for your country. I would post a link for you, but since you don't list where you are I can't. You also don't mention whether it's a GSM or Dual Cell model.

    I actually thought it was more of an software issue since the problem does not occur all the time and has only occured for two times when I was doing things on the phone. It seemed that some function just "stopped" working until I rebooted the phone (sadly by taking out the battery).

    And what do you mean by GMS or Dual Cell model?

    I'm from Holland btw.

    If you think that it's a software issue, then try reflashing the ROM. If it is a software issue, this should solve it. But it is more likely to be a hardware issue. Either way, I would get a New replacement. If you've only had it for a week & you're already having issues; that's a candidate for replacement.
    You can get the TP2 official ROM @: http://www.htc.com/nl/supportdownloadli ... sd&cat=all {This address is for the Nederlands HTC site} For the Worlwide HTC site go to http://www.HTC.com/www

    GSM = Global SIM Management
    CDMA = Code Division Mulible Access
    SIM = Subscriber Identity Module

    GSM devices Use SIM cards are capable of being used the world over. The SIM card contains all the authorization data needed for your device to connect to the carrier's network. As long as your GSM device contains the proper frequencies, you can use it anywhere. In order to switch your device to a new provider, you simply need to change the SIM card {Granted the device is not Carrier locked}. As well, if you want to change devices you simply need to put you SIM in the new device.

    CDMA devices rely on the IMSI {International Mobile Subscriber Identity} number to connect to a carrier's network. The IMSI is similar to a serial number, & the carrier network uses it to identify the device. If you want to change CDMA devices you must either call your carrier, or use the OTA programming service {If your carrier has OTA capability}. If you want to use you CDMA device with another CDMA carrier; You're SOL. The device must be completely reprogrammed {New Radio, OS, & SPL} for use with the new carrier.

    A Dual Cellular device use both GSM & CDMA radios. These devices can be used with the CDMA carrier they were programmed for, or you can isert a SIM & use it with a GSM network. These are also know as World Phones. HTC devices that have Dual Cell capability are desinated with a W after the model name.
