Default Touch Pro 2 Turns Off Randomly

I bought my new “Touch Pro 2”, model: T7373, running Windows 6.5, about two months ago. Problem: the phone turns itself off randomly while sitting idle. Every time it happens, I have to take the battery out and put it back in to turn it back on. Pressing the power button does not turn the phone on. What is the problem with my set? Do I need to replace it? Can this problem be fixed? Can anyone help, please?

Is this a recent problem or has it existed since you got it? I would recommend getting a replacement. Something is causing the system to lock up. If it's a hardware glitch; then it would need servicing.

I have been having the same problem with mine. This is actually the second one as I already brought it in for the same problem and SPRINT replaced the original phone, but after about a week it started to act up also. It is super frustrating... Mine will sometimes just shut off or freeze when I plug in the charger and after being plugged in all night I will wake up in the morning with 20% battery life because it doesn't charge in this frozen state. I have honestly considered smashing it against the wall on more than one occasion. Forget receiving multiple messages at once it will literally cause the phone to freeze for sometimes 10-15 minutes until you can do anything with it, but if you reset it then you will lose the messages that you received at that time. In case you can't tell I hate it!

My problems are over... Called SPRINT and spoke to a Supervisor... SPRINT sent me a Samsung Intercept for free... I am thrilled at the customer service and the new phone... what a difference. This is what a smartphone should be! Thanks SPRINT and Samsung/ Android!

Hardware is not the issue...it's a problem with the software (as I learned after swapping the phone out and experiencing the same problem). It also manifests itself as the phone will not allow you return to the HOME screen, and the program icons will not work or become unresponsive). Pulling the battery works for a short time, but will eventually lock up again. If it continues, I will just turn off Sense but that's a major bummer as graphically the default windows screen is a little lacking....Storage space is not an issue for me with 120 meg free and 70 meg for program space. Do some time reading the forums and you'll see there is a problem with WM 6.5 and Sense (2.5). Would love to get a fix..ahem...htc...anyone?
