Wildfire S low memory
Hi - wonder if anyone can help.
My wife has a Wildfire S. It's a completely stock phone not S-OFF, not rooted and no custom ROMs. She has installed almost no apps on the phone (literally one or two very small apps) yet somehow she only has 5MB internal memory left!
This can't be right, I know the Wildfire S has memory issues but this is ridiculous.
I had similar problems with my HTC Desire but that was because I had a few apps installed and I eventually ended up rooting that and installing a custom ROM that supports Data2SD but I see it’s not as straightforward with the Wildfire S
Can anyone suggest something I can do to free up internal memory?
Many thanks in advance for any suggestions…

I understand the pain of getting low memory in Wildfire S as I too have been through the same problem till December, 2011. Recently I have got updates over the air where my android software upgraded from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5 where it also increased the ROM size. Now my total ROM size in around 150 MB.
Try updating your phone over the air. Go to Settings > About Phone > Software Updates > Check Now.

I'm getting a similar problem. I have the same few apps I have had all the time. I have occasionally added new apps but then deleted them. I ran out of memory a while back so did a factory reset to clear it all. with the current apps installed I had 35mb of free storage. Now, still having the same apps installed, I have 15mb storage left. I've deleted all the txt messages, I've cleaned the email trash, I regularly delete the cache's, I've moved all the apps I can to the SD card (which has 3gig free), I've updated the kernel, Ive soft reset the phone on numerous occasions. I've nosed in a file manager to try and find temp files that I can delete.
Now I have less than 20mb left things dont run properly, which is ironic since the majority of the time I have 150mb system ram free.
Am I stuck just doing a hard reset every now and again to keep the damn phone running? or does someone know where the memory is going? I presume it's going to be some temp files that it never removes fully. All the memory managers I find are for system memory not storage memory. yada yada yada.
Please dont give the stock answers, please read the question properly.
Where is my memory going.
