    Angry HTC Wildfire Sync Issue

    Hi,
    People

I brought a Wildfire from a retail outlet and i tried to download the HTC Sync software and it was installed fine without any problems but its not detecting my device at all no matter what ever i do.

Error Message : "Unable o find HTC Sync on your PC. Please make sure that HTC Sync is installed and opened on your computer"

The link below is the version what i downloaded first and did not work and then the second one was also tried and still not results, i am very much pleased with the phone but not at all happy with the way HTC Sync.

    2) http://www.htc.com/www/SupportViewNe...33&news_id=729

Before i started the installation i uninstalled the device drivers and all files from programs and features but still does not work at all my computer also meets the system requirements if you need i am using Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit version.

Can anyone put some light on the issue and resolve the problem or do i have to give the phone back to the retailer from where i brought the phone.

    Regards

    Sandy

Hi Sandy, try uninstalling it all including the drivers, reboot, disconnect from the internet and reinstall. Apparently this is a Windows issue where it goes and finds the drivers off the internet rather than the ones that HTC supply with the Sync software.
    Hope it helps.

I'm curious if you've managed to do it. I have the same issue, and I understand the fix is to go to Settings -- Applications -- USB Debugging. The only problem is, I have no such thing on my computer...

These settings are on your phone not the PC. I had to reinstall the software as above as well as changing this setting to get HTC Sync to work with a Wildfire.

Note to HTC: would it be that difficult to put this info on your install page.

Installing HTC Sync is tedious. I succeeded only after a few attempts. To sync emails, contacts, calendar with the exchange server I choose not to use HTC sync but use Activesync instead. Note: for contacts, if you use both there will be duplicate contacts in your address book.

Actually, it is not HTC owned forum

Anyway - check under Settings > Development > USB debugging. Shall be enabled.

Also, check Application - HTC Sync for Android 2.1 & 2.2

I managed following the suggestions there:

If you cannot see the HTC Sync option when you connect your phone to the computer via USB, please follow the

    Instructions below:

    1. Make sure you select USB Debugging in Settings > Applications > Development before connecting your phone to the computer

    2. Connect you Phone to the PC and wait 20 seconds for your phone to install HTC Sync on your phone.

    3. Unplug the USB sync cable. Wait for 5 seconds. Reconnect the Phone to the PC using the USB cable.

    4. Select “HTC sync” and wait for HTC Sync to recognize your Phone. This process could take up to a minute your first

    time connecting to the computer

One lost weekend of my life trying to achieve what should be the simplest work: sync a "modern" device (Wildfire) with Outlook.

Doesnt play w/ my laptop and WIN7, doesnt play w/ my desktop and WinXP, doesnt play whatever version of HTC Sync I install. Dont know how many times I re-installed, always the same error on the phone: "htc wildfire unable to find htc sync on pc".

I'm pi@#$ off, but I know it's all my mistake; I picked an HTC device, after what I've been through w/ my previous HTC phone. Hope someone reads this before doing the same mistake.
