Default Unable to copy calendar items from your device.

I got this problem on my EVO with the caledars. I don't sync my contacs so i'm not sure this will work for you.
I've had my Evo for almost a year know with no major problems syncing my calendar up until a week ago. Then all of a sudden I get that message "Unable to copy calendar items from your device". I removed and re-installed HTCSync, HTC Drivers on my PC and made sure the phone software version was up to date but that didn't work.
What did work, I removed the "Calendar Pad" app I was using and forced closed the calendar apps that is permenately installed on the phone wich is the Calendar, Calendar Storage, and Calendar Widget. I did a "Sync now" using the HTCSync and it worked.
This is the path to get to the apps:
Menu>settings>Applications>Manage applications> select the "All" tab
Then un-install all calendar apps and force close the ones you can't.

    Good Luck, Hope taht helps!

Ok I had the same prob, contacted HTC helpdesk were very helpful. Here's what I did, Settings/Applications/Developments then put a tick in USB debbuging. I think when i downloaded several apps on battery saving one of them has unticked the box. Now it's not a perfect fix 1 in every 3 times I still get one of several error messages, either contacts, Calander or SD card is not mounted comes up. There is still plenty of room for a decent fix from HTC but hopefully this will help a bit

I was getting the same error, but I remembered I recently upgraded my Norton Security Suite software. I uninstalled Norton Security Suite (removed settings) and reinstalled it. I now have NO problems with HTC Sync.

I fixed this issue in my HTC phone by doing the followings:
1.Go to the HTC Syc-- People Tab.
    2.Click on the Option button.
3.Remove the tick on "Use default folder"
4.Select the folder manually(Navigate to the Contacts folder under your outlook account)
    5.Do the sync again.

    That's it
