Wireless/network switched off - so why am I being being charged ?
I have all wireless/network settings switched off yet I keep being charged for their use. The charges look correct because I found recent emails on my phone . Is there any other way to connect to network apart from going through settings ? It's new, so maybe I am doing something I don't know about.
Thanks,
Malteser

hi
if you dont want your phones to use any data at all, you have to disable almost everything, no mail, no weather forecast, no nothing. No friendstream. It all takes data.
But then I cant help ask: why did you buy a smartphone, if you dont want to make use of the smartness? sorry, just curious...
Malteser88, there are apps in the market, that enables wifi switch off/on-widget. But then you have to be near an open wifi hotspot...

I find downloading Curvefish (developers name) applications of mobile data(APN), GPS, and wifi switches and putting them on my home screen really helps so you can immediately see what's on and what's not. Not only that but I have downloaded Netcounter (by cyril jaquier) which helps count how much you have downloaded in mobile data, and wireless (ignore the wireless one) so you can compare. Are you aware that connecting through your home wifi won't cost you anything for data download? That's why any data downloads like market apps etc I have to do, I make sure I do it via wi-fi.
The applications I have recommended are free by the way!Last edited by hel_is_heaven; 01-24-2011 at 08:43 AM.
