Post Htc wildfire wi fi connection problem

    Hi all,
I have a problem! Something's wrong with my WiFi connection... Whenever I try to connect to the internet, it shows Scanning... Connnecting... and Disconnecting... repeatedly. The network signal is excellent, I type in the password correctly and stay close to the router. But still nothing. I also tried to connect to open networks, but it didn't work. I was serching more info about this problem on the net but I didnt find anything helpful.I just got wildfire and I didnt download any apps so i think that is not a cause of problem. Also I tried to restart mobile device but the problem is still there...Does anyone know solution of this problem? PLIIIZZZ!

Default HTC Wildfire WiFi problem solution

I had a similar problem WiFi icon shows strong signal but no connection. Went to HTC help page http://www.htc.com/uk/help/ Don't select phone model scroll down to centre of page to access "WiFi security fix". The download is to your PC so if you don't have HTC Sync, download and install that first.

Once the fix is downloaded on your PC, open and run. Note this wipes your phone of all data and resets to how it was when you first bought it. So save stuff to SD card and remove. Don't worry about Apps you bought on Market Place, these will reinstall when you open marketplace and click on downloads.

The phone takes awhile to reboot.

I hope this sorts your problem
