Why WP7 sucks
* No VPN
* No GPS programs
* No MP3 ringtones
* No backward compatibility with Windows Mobile Programs
* No internet tethering/sharing
* No SD card slot
* No Outlook syncronization (e.g. your personal Outlook)
* No Bluetooth File Sharing
* No Flash support in Browser
* Can only sync via Zune to your media libraries
* No Copy & Paste
Nor will ANY of these features be added for future releases, as per Microsoft. They were working on backward compatibility with Windows Mobile during the WP7 project but they cancelled it.
Ironically, Windows Mobile 6.5 had ALL these features! So why remove it??
Please bear in mind I own a HD7 before you respond back.

These three are really shame.* No MP3 ringtones
* No Bluetooth File Sharing
* No Copy & Paste
+ Why not having ability to backup/restore device, which will include at least Contacts, Messages, and Settings?
+ Why not having Quick Dial? This is what all mobile phones has.
+ Why not having Themes support?

Regarding Theme support - As you cannot designate a traditional wallpaper (ala Android) nor change the tile interface, there is no ability for themes. Reason for this is Uniformity. You cannot change the Tiles other than color, as Microsoft has tried very hard to make sure the look and feel of the interface is the same on any phone (e.g. No Skins like HTC Sense for example).
As for MP3 ringtones, Microsoft does not want to have copywritten music used as ringtones, so it disabled this feature on purpose.
Bluetooth File Sharing violates Microsoft's ability to secure the device from viruses and make visible the file structure. It took a page from Apple's book and blocked this feature in it's entirety.
Individuality and Customization is not something Microsoft seems to want people to enjoy with their WP7 smartphone. Hence, if this is important to you, may I suggest a HD2 or Android phone?

I have HD7 too.
Ringtones problem solved by ChevronWP7 Ringtone Installer.
Copy/Paste will be added in the next OS update, MS said.

Copy/Paste is the only thing I can see MS actually adding from the below list - Sad to see someone having to resort to download a third party program to install a MP3 ringtone on their new Smartphone. Besides, ChevronWP7 unlocked phones will be locked down by MS anyway.

I agree, there are major issues with this phone. My first problem was ringer volume was too low and I contacted tech support to fix the problem. My second problem was the alarm which was too low and tech support was unable to fix the problem. So I had to send it back to the company. Fingers cross and I hope the replacement phone is from any problems. However, after reading some of the issues you guys have experienced I am not sure about the replacement phone.

The WP7 Phone is terrible...Getting HTC tomorrow!!!! I have had this phone since Nov of last year. I thought I would give it time. I have updated the phone twice and the only thing this phone can do now is Copy and Paste!! Android is definately the way to go.

Hey guys.. Windows is now out of the competition by launching their WP7. This phone is a total disaster. If looking for some good phones then go for HTC Desire or HTC Sensation. Samsung Galaxy S2 is also a good option.
I got HTC Sensation recently and have just fallen in love with it
